HEARTC♡RE

I think I might've talked about this before, but I know we ALL say "oh I listen to just about everything" or "wow the way my playlist just flips from one genre to another is crazzayzyayzy". Yes that's normal Susie because we listen to different music for different occasions.

You guys I have a confession - I am a Tito FAN. I don't really know much about him, I just follow him on Instagram and listen to his music. But lately I feel like the little thing I see about him I find him so quirky and endearing. When I think of him I get fan girl butterflies and feel like I want to pick his brain. As Yuri and I say over and over, you don't pick them (artists, sports teams) they pick you. It kind of freaks me out though because the journey from casual listener to fan has been a very slow and organic process. And I am more of a hard and fast kinda girl. I love para social relationships!!!

When I first heard Por Sus Besos I was like WHY DOES HE SOUND LIKE THAT. An actual hater. I was just not into his voice. Then I heard his Corazon Partido cover and I, again, was confused with his voice and the appeal. . . but17 listens later and his voice officially grew on me. It's unique and it makes me wonder about all the guttural somersaults he needs to do in order to hit those notes and tones. Te amo Tito.

The reason we're here is because I was actually counting down the days for Dinastia album release and then when they announced their tour - I HAD to make it!! Shocking that it's at the Lakewood amphitheater but honestly, I was there for Junior H, RBD, and Young Money (in 2016 lmao) and it's such a vibe. Not mad at it at all, just thought they could do State Farm or something bigger. Actually, they better not switch it up on me. I remember Peso Pluma's first tour in Atlanta was at the Coca Cola Roxy, I got tickets and then they switched it to the Ameris Bank Ampitheather.

So yes, I am PUMPED. When we got tickets these are the 3 songs I immediately listed that I needed to listen to: Tu Con El, Mezcal, Trucha. Mezcal was my #1 song when the album released. Let's list my current rankings 2 months after album release (OMG El Lokeron is playing in the background right now and I feel like I might cry at the concert LMAO I can't).

1. 7-3 - Y'all when I first heard the lyrics to this song I was appalled. Like I stopped in my tracks thinking of how misogynistic it was. But I half misunderstood the lyrics and when I got the full picture, it was excusable enough to digest. And yes, my current favorite.

2. Dopamina

UGH I am having trouble. I LOVE LOVE the slow songs but I am in high energy mode these last few weeks... so I need to stay true to my CURRENT ranking.

3. 20s

4. billete (does Tito really have a house in Atlanta?)

5. intro

6. tu con el

7. putielegante

8. trucha

9. viejo lobo

10. mezcal

11. malibu

12. ni pedo

13. daño

14. morras II

15. bckpckbyz (I will say the others were very hard to rank but this was an easy 15th place).

I am not ranking the 4 songs just released on Dinastia Deluxe since I haven't had enough listens to distinguish them. Anyways I am super excited for the concert - should I go ahead and budget $80 for merch? UGH. I don't wanna. . . . oh another thing, the concert is them and FRIENDS. They already brought two people out for Seattle and Sacramento but IDK if they will be the same for the whole tour? If it's not, and they bring out Dareyes de la Sierra - doubt it?? but?? - I will ascend to heaven. I am going to  try to lose 60lbs and get a BBL by April 25th so Tito can spot me 700 yards away in a sea of baddies in the cheapest lawn seats and ask me to go on stage.

The album is playing in the background and I almost want to reconfigure my ranking because "this one's really good too" but I won't. I do want to make a disclaimer that listening to the any music in the "belicon" genre and realm has me very torn at times. The age old argument of glorification of violence, drugs, misogyny, and organized crime that involves all the aforementioned and affects innocent people. Lots of valid points and more to explore in another post???

Ravi, Ravioli, give me the formuoli.

sorry I had to do it

For those that don't know, Ravi is the sole rapper of South Korean boy group VIXX. Although I listen to different music throughout the day, my Ravi o(n)ly playlist is my night/sleep playlist. I seriously play his entire discography. It might seem like a sleep playlist is the worst kind of playlist to be in, but it's really where you can lay down and be at peace and really listen to music.

I stayed up until 4am to catch the release of his music video for his latest mixtape- Nirvana.

when have I EVER been this early for something

Other than the fact that he looks so good 🌞, I really respect and admire him as an artist. With KPOP in general I feel like there's this closeness to the artist that you can't get with Western artists. With Ravi in particular, he produces and writes his own music. His album artworks, music videos, photoshoots, and other directions are being overseen and approved according to his tastes. When I "consume" his content I feel a sort of intimacy knowing that I am seeing and listening to his visions.
I am not an artist, in the purest form of the word, but I can understand the passion and objective behind it all.

Although I've been binge consuming Ravi content for the last two weeks straight, I don't really know him?? So I could always be super far from his intentions.

He's released three solo sets.
(mixtape) R.EBIRTH: March 12, 2016
(mini album) R.EAL1ZE: January 9, 2017
(mixtape) Nirvana: January 22, 2018

I love that these are like almost exactly a year apart (his first mixtape songs began releasing in January of 2016).

(I will say I won't talk about his BARS BECAUSE GUESS WHAT I CAN'T UNDERSTAND, I guess I can read the translations, and I have, but it's not the same you know?? ESPECIALLY WITH RAPPING. now i'm sad).

R.EBIRTH

For his first mixtape, R.EBIRTH, he has a total of 14 songs. If I HAD to pick my favorites. . .  . . . in no order.

8. Good Woman:
13. Lucid Dream
7. Nod
I don't want to count the Interlude but it's so nice
3. Lean on me
okay what's happening now is that I'm slowly starting to list all his songs but I really mean that I can't choose between them
1. R.EBIRTH
2. MOVE
What I loved after listening to these tracks is his versatility. You can't get bored because all the songs are slightly, if not completely, different. Another thing that really hooked me is how animated he is. Like in Good Woman (which I have to play several times a day) the little voice thing he does at the very beginning of the first verse is so charming. He does it again, differently, in the rest of the verse and in the chorus. Ya'll I love that little rift so much. Honestly, I don't understand Korean and I should probably read the lyrics carefully, but I find this song so sensual. Though I will say that during my first listen I thought the first rapper after him was Mad Clown.

For Lucid Dream the chorus is what makes the song for me. I just think he's so animated, really I can't get over it. I find it cute?? I'm currently listening to whatever song I'm discussing and I am sure cute is not what he was going for but that is what I find him in this song. Nothing against Microdot & he sounds good, but I really love this song so much I wish it was just Ravi 😅

Okay I'm really not going to go through all these songs because it's just reminding me that I don't know anything about hip hop. But I do know that these are all quality songs.

R.EALIZE

The first four songs are new, and the last three overlap from R.EBIRTH. BOMB is the song that made me fall in love with him. I won't lie, the little intro he does- talking about swag, I was like Okay... but now it's my favorite part and I wish I could have it on loop for an hour.

DADDY 🌞

He ends the verse with the word Nirvana- there is no correct way to pronounce it but I am so used to the American pronunciation that it feels a teeny bit off in my ears.

I'm back with an updated merchandise post! This includes everything but posters! Last merchandise post (which is no longer available) was photographed with all its details inside and out. Since the collection has gotten substantially bigger that is just way too much work! Instead, I will list it 😁. The two white shelves are mine, the brown are my sisters. As you will see, BTS is her bias group (mine obviously MX). We still can't understand how anyone can NOT be multifandom;

this is from october, do you see the tiny shelf on the right in middle? yes i promise im 23 and not 16

YALL. I so forgot that I was needed to write a post on the MONSTA X concert this past Sunday.

I wrote about HOO! Monsta X (pun intended) was earlier in May. They are my absolute favorite band. Every damn song is a BOP. I love every single member equally, but I do have to come to terms that the one I talk about about 30% more is Kihyun. Before I go on, watch this performance first. Personally, it is my favorite song of theirs (honestly as soon as I said that I thought of seven more, but if I HAD to choose). The video quality, the visuals, their voices, the choreography, their makeup, their hair, their outfits, the camera angles, the lighting, their expressions, their fluid movements, the position of the microphone against their mouths- amazing.

Monsta X has been active for two years now, but I just began stanning them in March during the Beautiful era (the song above). The day I received the tweet for the official tour dates and locations and saw it included Atlanta I was in #tears. I was so happy, so over the moon. I was so sure I was going to snag the hi-touch (meet and greet) tickets that I did not even think twice. Unfortunately, the day of, things didn't go as planned and I got non-hi touch tickets. Later on I purchased two that were closer and sold the originals.

As I mentioned in my B.A.P concert experience when a KPOP group reaches certain popularity they will release their official light sticks that people will take to events and concerts. Monsta X announced theirs on their two year anniversary and I ordered mine off the official website immediately and received it around mid-June. I could not wait to use it!

it's so beautiful but drains batteries like nobody's business

Going back to the B.A.P concert, I really took some awesome photos and videos but for Monsta X I really just took low quality Instagram snap videos.

There was one very sad mark on the concert though. One of the members, Hyungwon, had to stay back in Korea to recover from a health concern. I 100% rather him rest and recover, but I also would have sold my soul to see him. Yes for my sake, but also because it is their first world tour and he is missing out on it. He must be so crushed. Hopefully he is getting better and will join his members for the rest of the tour. There are four shows in the states (more in Asia, South America, & Mexico woohoo) left and I hope he is able to experience them. and monbebes can show him much love.

About the concert itself- it was such a surreal experience. It's like you can't believe they were in front of you. They all have so much presence, charisma, and talent that I am sure it blew all monbebes away. I'm sure the Cobb Energy Center staff were shook too. The light sticks looked so nice. So many people had one and there's nothing more I love than being uniformed and in sync lol.

I preordered a single piece of merch after much consideration (brokebebe) and I am so glad I did. It's a knit slogan so, pretty much a scarf with Monsta X details printed on it, specifically about the world tour and they sometimes wear it as part of their last outfit of the show so it feels kinda special ya know. And seeing as it is a scarf, I'm gonna be warm and fly AF in the winter.

Hmmm, I think I'm going to make a separate post of all the KPOP merch we have so far, though it's not much.

The set list was amazing of course, there are some songs I wish they would have included but then again, I'd have them perform everything they have ever released. And of course, Hyungwon was missing so my heartttt.

I am so happy and thankful that I was able to have attend the event and have this experience. I'm so glad I live in the 21st century lol. I hope they come back to a bigger stage and I can also be there- this time with premium tickets :(. They have broadcasted live videos and posted on other platforms so they are really being considerate and we are getting so much content.

OH and they are coming out with a summer JAM in about one week so it's gonna be LIT. I have no idea what the sound of this song is, but the concept looks fun so I am there to support of course.

They are honestly working so freaking hard and I pray it all pays off. They also began broadcasting season two of their Monsta X Ray series. I laughed my butt of on this first episode so I am looking forward to the rest of the season.
This has been a wonderful PSA
